Quick Reads
Books under 10,000 words can often be finished in under an hour.
Choose a book, record where you are, and set a daily goal. Your progress is stored in localStorage in this browser; it is not uploaded to a user account.
If the EPUB has no fixed print pagination, the tool starts with an estimated page count and lets you replace it with the page total shown by your own reader.

The reading guide estimates how long it will take to finish a book based on its word count and your reading speed. The collection includes works from under 5,000 words to over 200,000, so time estimates vary widely.
Use the guide to plan your reading sessions, whether you have twenty minutes or an afternoon. It is an estimate, not a guarantee, since individual pace differs.
Books under 10,000 words can often be finished in under an hour.
Medium-length works around 30,000 words take a few sittings.
Longer novels from 100,000 words or more may require dedicated reading time.
The Reading Tracker is a simple tool for anyone who likes to see progress in pages. It records your current page, the total pages in the book, and a daily page goal. From those numbers, it estimates how much time remains and how many days it will take to finish. No account is required; the progress history is stored in your browser's localStorage.
When you open a book in the tracker, it needs a total page count. If the catalog does not provide one, the tracker estimates it using a configured 250 words per page. For example, "Glow Worm — A Closer Reading" (id 298) has about 6,582 words, so the initial estimate would be around 27 pages (6,582 ÷ 250 ≈ 26.3, rounded up).
That estimate is a starting point, not a fixed number. If you are reading an edition with different pagination, you can replace the total page count with the one shown by your reading app or physical book. The tracker will then use your actual page count for all calculations.
The default daily goal displayed by the interface is 20 pages. You can adjust it to match your reading habits. A higher goal will shorten the estimated finish date, while a lower goal will extend it. The tracker does not judge your pace; it simply reflects the numbers you enter.
The estimated remaining time is proportional: it takes the catalog's estimated reading minutes, multiplies by the remaining pages, and divides by the total pages. For "Glow Worm," the catalog estimates 29 minutes for the whole book. If you have read 10 of 27 pages, the remaining time would be about 29 × 17 / 27 ≈ 18 minutes.
The estimated finish days are calculated by dividing the remaining pages by your daily page goal. With a goal of 20 pages per day, finishing the remaining 17 pages would take one day (ceil(17 / 20) = 1). If you set a goal of 5 pages per day, it would take four days (ceil(17 / 5) = 4). This helps you plan realistically.
The tracker records progress in pages only—it does not track sections or minutes as progress. That keeps the tool focused on the simple act of moving through a book. You update your current page as you read, and the tracker does the math for you.
Because progress is stored in your browser, you can close the page and return later without losing your place. However, if you switch browsers or devices, the history will not follow you. For a long book like "Les liaisons dangereuses, volume 2 (of 2)" (id 306), the tracker can help you see that even a few pages a day adds up over time.
